Tartuffe

In the Mainstage Production of "Tartuffe" by Molière (Adapted by Ranjit Bolt), at Fordham University, directed by Terrence I Mosely, Natalia played Marianne, the daughter of Orgon and Elmire's stepdaughter. Marianne is initially engaged to Valère, a young man she loves deeply. However, due to her father's infatuation with Tartuffe, a hypocritical and manipulative religious zealot, Orgon breaks off Marianne's engagement to Valère and plans to marry her off to Tartuffe instead.
Marianne is depicted as a young, innocent, and obedient girl who is torn between her loyalty to her father and her love for Valère. She is desperate to marry the man she loves but is unable to oppose her father's wishes openly. Marianne becomes the object of Tartuffe's advances, which further complicates the situation.
Marianne's character represents the struggle between societal expectations and personal desires.
