A Fish Requiem
The short film A Fish Requiem, written and directed by Julie Shin and starring Natalia Guedes, is a poetic and surreal meditation on grief and letting go. Set on a quiet shore at blue hour, the story follows a woman who sits across from a raw pink fish resting on a white cube. As they share a symbolic glass of soju, the fish speaks to her with sorrowful wisdom, reflecting on pain, memory, and healing. Through their exchange, the woman confronts her loss—and ultimately walks into the ocean, cradling the fish, in a final act of farewell and closure.
